Partnering with Ladies Learning Code
Michela Langlois
Ladies Learning Code is a not-for-profit organization with the mission to be the leading resource for women and youth to become passionate builders - not just consumers - of technology by learning technical skills in a hands-on, social, and collaborative way.
Learning to code helps foster problem solving skills, iterative building, and creativity. Digital literacy is regarded as the next educational frontier and Ladies Learning Code are proudly pioneering this movement in communities across Canada.
From day one, Ladies Learning Code has been by the community, for the community. Local leaders create solutions that address the unique needs of their communities. The Sudbury Chapter launch in May 2015, and have run four workshops to date. These workshops are staffed and run by volunteer instructors and mentors. In the past members of the Sudbury Design Society have participated as mentors, and not only is it a great way to keep those coding skills sharp, it's also a fun a rewarding way to give back to the community.
If you are interested in getting involved as a mentor, or an instructor please email the Ladies Learning Code Sudbury chapter at sudbury@ladieslearningcode.com.
